Arooo roo roo!!!!!
Hello. It's been a few weeks since the last update, but it is all her fault..... she keeps on forgetting to take the camera out with us. She has missed quite a few amusing opportunities as a result. Oh well, that is hoomans for you I suppose - tut!
There are days where mum has been very unwell with her illness and we have to really nudge her to make her take us out. We look after her as much as we can and make sure that she does carry on. There is so much for us to do and get on with. I have to remind her that I want to be an agility dog one day. Nalle and Lotte know quite a bit about her illness as they suffer from a similar condition. You should see them all in the morning, they all have different coloured pills to take.
Its been a busy few weeks. Despite mum and her immune system crisis, I have been taken to a few agility shows. They are great fun and I have learned a lot. I can't wait until I am old enough to join in all the fun.
Auntie Glynis also took me to the railway station a few days ago so that I could see and hear the trains. Yawn, yawn. Tally told me they were very scary, but I couldn't see the point to them personally, so Auntie Glynis took me into the park for a run instead. Now that was much more interesting than looking at those long pieces of noisy metal racing along their tracks.
Then, of course, there was THAT bank holiday weekend - y-e-s..... the one wh
........and dig holes in the garden!!!! Oh yes I did. Whey hey. I just L-O-V-E-D the mud.
I thought mum would like it if I brought some back into the house with me. Not only that, but I ran all the way up the staircase and chased Tally around the bedrooms. It seemed mum didn't like my idea of fun. She spent the remainder of the day scrubbing carpets, furniture and bed linen..... all I kept on hearing was her mumbling "I could have been at a show today, having fun and now look at what I am having to do". I really can't understand why she couldn't join in all the fun, after all, there wasn't much else to do - was there?
Evidently it wasn't a good idea that I dug 3 holes in the lawn. Mum had been working hard in the garden, making it look nice for the summer. She thought I ought to start up my own small business "Barkley Excavations", because I had made such a good job of digging those holes.
It is fun to dig though don't you think? especially on boring days. However, the places I dug only contained roots and stones, so mum provided me with a digging pit. A digging pit??? what on earth would I want one of those for when I am quite capable of making holes of my own? Ahhh, the books. The books say that for digging dogs, humans should provide digging pits which are full of nice things. Oh right - but I don't read the same books as her. I had to go away and think this one through..... so on the first nice day, after the rains had gone, I went outside and dug up the bones and toys which she had kindly put into this 'digging pit' for me. I then went running inside and dumped all the treasure trove across the living room floor. Hee hee, I couldn't stop there, so I ran upstairs and chased Tally.......Oh dogness, then I spotted mum, she was pulling the remainder of her hair out again!
The rain did have a silver lining though.
Lots and lots of water in the local parks. I went for my first proper swim. Not only that, but I did my first retrieve out of the water. A few throws later, the floating toy sunk when I landed on top of it. What fun that turned out to be. I discovered how to snorkel. Mum laughed and laughed. She threw the toy back in several times, and each time I landed on top of the toy so that it sunk again. I love swimming under water. So much better than being out in the rain and digging holes.
Tally thinks I am wonderful. I love her too.
Lotte and Nalle also enjoy searching for theirs too:
When all the leashes had been collected, Mum's mobile phone barked to say that Jackie and Molly were
