I have changed my name to Mr. Flash

A-row row row!!!! It's me. I'm back (please remember to click on the pictures to enlarge them)

Sorry I haven't updated for a while. This is partly Gail's and partly mum's fault. A few weeks ago it was Tally's birthday, and we had a big party at our paddock. There was an amazing cake which was shared out to everyone who attended. Big slices for big dogs and little slices for little dogs. There were lots of games and prizes. We managed to raise £40 for Irish Setter Rescue, who were extremely grateful. Gail took lots and lots of pictures, but we never got them - and mum kept on forgetting to remind Gail to bring them along with her. Never mind. Mum had a good enough excuse, as she has not been too well. A common cold for her can be disasterous as she has this Addison's Disease thingy. There were a few days when we worried that she might have to leave us and go into hospital, but the danger period seems to have passed by now, so we are all up and raring to go again.

This week, it was a bit traumatic for Tallulah as well. She has a lump in her groin which keeps going up and down, so she had to go to the vet to have some of it drawn off and sent to a laboratory. We are expecting the results later today.

After she escaped from the vets, she was put back into the car and off we went to another strange place.

When we arrived, we walked through a gate. Mum knocked on the door and it opened. We ran in...... cor what an amazing place. Lots of things to sniff and investigate.

The lady made tea for mum, and after all the investigations, I plonked myself down on what looked like a large cosy mat. The lady said something about my becoming a photographic model?

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha You WOT???? What me??????? Hahahahahaha
You have GOT to be kiddin'

Let Nalle do it......

Oh, he's very old now. His legs are getting very wobbly but he still enjoys his long walks. Mum has to make sure where he goes in the river these days, because he gets stuck and needs hauling back out. Tally and I really love him and I always give him such a huge greeting every morning.

As for her - Tally Tallulah....

she was still very stressed from her visit to the vet and just wouldn't put her tongue away. They tried all kind of things to make her shove it back inside her mouth, but any shots they got still had her looking very stressed. Still, it probably wasn't a good day for her after having 3 needles stuck in her soooooo, I decided I had better take over and.....

become a photographic model.......

Hahahaha, like this.... hahahahah.

and like this.... hmmmmm

and this way.....

and that way......

Mmmmmm, I really think I am taking on the role of this now... Chill man.
Oh yeeeees indeed, I am Soooo beautiful. uh hum. Can we adjust the lighting a bit there please?

Nah, I think being an Irish Setter we need a bit of green backdrop there, don't you? Can you put it back now please?

Yesssss, I think we are getting somewhere. Stunning boy I am.

BARRRRKLEY!!!!!!!!!

Whoops, I think mum is calling me back down to planet earth. Yes, it is October, and a timely reminder of where I was this time last year.

You may have seen the t.v. programme about the problems with pedigree dogs? Well, I am one of the many dogs which the Kennel Club don't know about, and aren't at all interested in. When they say the majority of pedigree dogs are fit and healthy, what do they know? they don't keep statistics, or log calls from distresssed owners. This time last year this was me......

My eyelids had grown much too large, and they had started to turn inwards. They were in danger of making me go blind as they scratched my retina. However, this very clever and artistic vet - Mr. Philip Hanlon of Milton Keynes Veterinary Group

corrected the problem, and made me the MR. HANDSOME I AM TODAY.... hahahahahahha. Thank you very much Mr. Phil.

and THANK YOU VERY MUCH Karen Parker of Canine and Equine Photography in Stony Stratford for turning me into a star!!!!

A star ....... hahahahahahaha.....
I AM!!!!!

Update: Tally's lump is something and nothing. It is just a mass caused by inflammation where I bit her during play. There is some very slight infection in there, but not even enough to warrant her going on anti-biotics, so we are all VERY happy. Love Barkley xxxx
