Harrrrow wow wow!!! and welcome back. It is MY birthday time again and I am now a 2 boy.

Mum says I have just discovered my balls? I thought those were things which Tallulah collects and then takes out with her, demanding that mum throws them across the field for her to chase. I am really confused. Hmmm.

Uh hum..... yes!!! Well... erm it seems that wishes do come true for Christmas. After looking around all those websites and helping mum to make my selection. A man knocked on the door and delivered a huge bag. Inside it were my two wishes:

A new "lammie" (because Tallulah decided to kill the one I'd had from the age of 8 weeks) and
....a new bed!!! Because once again, that Tallulah thought it was great fun to rip the other one to shreds, and what a lovely idea it was too, as all the fluffy stuffing went all over the house and we were able to say "grrr" at it, shake it and throw it between ourselves. It was such a good game until mum walked in and spotted us. The new bed is a bit more difficult to pick up and throw about, so I should have checked its weight before I decided upon that one.

It's really not fair, because Tallulah and Nalle get two lots of presents each year, one lot for Christmas and another lot for birthday. As Christmas and my birthday are so close together, I had all my presents in one go, so to make up for it, mum organised a party for me at our paddock and invited some friends to come along. Here are some scenes from my party:

There were fun and games to be played with prizes to be won:

and then there was one of those cakes like Tallulah had, but mine was in the shape of a 2!!! It was also Alfie's 5th birthday, he is the little white dog on the right, in one of the above pictures. He had his own small dog cake which mum carefully made into a number 5.

Oh my, just what a lucky Barkley dog I am to have so many friends come to share my cake , and to have come to play, and my goodness did the friends enjoy their share of the cake!!! Their faces were a picture, and there were plenty of mouths wide open and watering at the thought of further servings. The humans said they raised £61.50 for Milton Keynes Animal Ambulance Service as a result of my party. I am always pleased to be of service to animals who are in need.

In my next blog, I intend to tell you about my agility training.
Mum says she is SOOO proud of me, and before I go to sleep
I often here here say "go on over, right round, back round,
go on up, go touch, get in the weaves...." I know what she is
saying, I lift my head and thump my tail for all it is worth....

and then my eyes become very heavy:

and then I go zzzzzzzz and dream of running, chasing and agility.

Recipe for doggy birthday cake (enough to feed friends too)
4 eggs
1/2 bag of gluten free flour
2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil (healthier alternative to butter or other fats or oils)
2lb of fresh butchers mince
carrots
2 pieces of garlic
1 other seasonal vegetable (Barkley's cake had sprouts)

Mix the flour and eggs, and blend in the coconut oil or butter

Fry the mince, garlic and vegetables together well in some more coconut oil, allow to cool slightly and then stir into the flour mixture, add some water to make into a cake texture, and then shape accordingly. Bake in the centre of the oven at about 200C for 45 minutes to an hour. Vary this if you make less of the mixture.

Enjoy.

Hi Barkley
I'm Grace's Auntie and my name is Ellie. I live in London with my human Mum and Dad but I love going to visit all my relatives in the country. My friend Disney (a beagle) does agility too and he tells me all about it when we play in the park - it sounds like great fun. I like reading your blog and hearing about all the things that you get up to.
