October and November have flown by

Aroooo roooo roooo!!!!

Oh my goodness, where has all the time disappeared to? It seems as though summer has come and gone far too quickly, although I must say that I do prefer the cooler weather as I don't get quite so hot under my collar as I am running around. I do a lot of running you see, as I am a canine athlete in my spare time.

Usually everything goes rather quiet at this time of year. There are hardly any agility shows. The evenings are very dark and boring, but to lighten things up a bit we have other activities including parties. Quite recently we celebrated Tallulah's 7th birthday. She can now enter veterans classes in agility. I took the trouble to explain all this to her, but for some reason she slapped me around the ears! Ouch!

For Tallulah's birthday party, mummy baked her a lovely cake:

Which DaisyMae (aka Fatima Round Dog) thought had been baked especially for her! It was a different receipe to the cakes we have had in the past, and even though they were extremely yummy, this particular one was just pure scrumptious, and nobody - not even one dog - turned their nose up at it. Even some of the humans tucked in and enjoyed a piece.

We had a wonderful time celebrating, and many of our friends came to play games and to have a good run around. There was this girl there who made a move on me:

"Come and get me Barkley, I am all yours" she giggled.

Yes, rather nice. But I am now a married man, and Gracie Griffin, my wife, lives in Wales, and couldn't be with us. Gracie would be rather cross if she thought there was anything to this, which of course there isn't. I prefer my girls to be red you see, and wearing the correct kind of perfume, and this girl really doesn't smell of Gracie, or eu de foxe, so I decided I had really better behave myself !

More cake to share around.

and more guests to share it with:

Not only did DaisyMae want to steal all the cake for herself, but she wanted to steal all the toys as well!

However, Tally had her fair share of cake, and received a lovely birthday toy from Auntie Di, that was the envy of us all.

Everyone chased Tally around the field, but look at who stole it!!!!!

Now, there's a surprise - not! Tally decided enough was enough and called a halt to the party!!!!

Poor Tally!

What? Was I really bothered by that? Come on - after having eaten all that cake, I just thought it was time to go home.

I had a lovely day. It was great fun!

I waved goodbye to all my friends and watched them leave the paddock. That was the hardest part.

So, we finished the afternoon by having a lovely run out in the park, where the setting sun glowed down on us, and made our coats really shine.

Mummy thinks the autumn brings out the best in us, and look at what Daisy is wearing around her neck!!!! I have been told she has been given this in preparation for her big day, whenever that is?

And with that, we all felt very tired:

and then went home to bed.

I wonder when the next party will be? and who will be there? I think I overheard mummy saying that it will be Sunday November 28th at BlackJacks paddock. Bradwell Abbey at 1.30pm. If you can make it there you will be welcome to come and join us. It might be snowing by then, and that will make things rather interesting..........
