Aroooooo.

Now we are at day 8 of Suprelorin, and yes my coat.... well, it isn't quite as shiny as it was.  It still looks good, but it isn't quite the dripping gloss it once was.  Mummee always said that if it became any shiner she would be able to see her face in it, Anyway, let's see how it goes over the next few weeks, because this could be an interesting side affect.  The other thing is, my balls are still quite enlarged.   The manufacturers of Suprelorin say they will go down in time, and maybe even disappear for a while.  So hormonally I still feel as though I am Jack the Lad.....  and can still pull a few birds from behind the bar.  But I must say, I am not quite as worried about those birds as I was.

Today, we went out for our walks with two other dogs, our buddies Teddy and Bruce, the Border brothers.

Waiting patiently.....

.................................................. and we're off!

Within minutes of us going mummee noticed that I was scent marking a bit more than I have been of late.  In fact, it was quite bad compared to how I have been, but just in certain places . I even went over some of them more than once.  Mummee knew that this would eventually lead to my straining, and it did.

We met quite a few different dogs out today, it appears that the good weather is bringing them out.   I didn't get tensed up with any of them, and neither did I notice any interesting smells on any of them, no medical problems. No anal gland infections in particular.

As we went along, I became quite relaxed and happy. We had some great games with our friends and DaisyMae ended up in a very dirty pond so she came out very black and smelly.  Mummee wasn't at all worried, as there was plenty of clean water in the river to clean her off further along the route.

We then headed back to the fields where everyone takes their dogs, and then came the big test  - the popular pee male posts, trees and boundary areas.  In the past, I haven't been able to get past any of them without spraying, and straining my glands all over them. But today?  I very almost ignored them all.  Yes, I trotted along and apart from a couple of leg cocks, I went past them all.  I then came to the tree which has always caused me problems.  I went up to it, trotted around it and then carried on trotting along the path.  Mummee's jaw was on the ground!!!!  She whooped with joy, and then her and I had a game of walking to close heel together, with my tail spinning and a big smile on my face. We went through the gates

down to the clean ponds, and then along another high scent marking area and this time I did stop for a pee, and just had to put a brief strain in at that point, but all in all, I was so much better, and so happy that I had a game of ball with mummee and Tally. Usually I would be incredibly stressed out and in a real pacing frenzy.

After that I had another set back when we came up to a real doggy boundary area. That's a point where people walk their dogs to, and then turn back towards home, that one made me quite unhappy.

So today, all in all, a day of real fluctuations, from not so good, to incredibly good.  But in line with what's generally been happening since the implant went in, the not so bad points are nowhere near as bad as they were, and on the whole, I am a much happier and more relaxed dog.  Mummee has noticed an incredible difference in my facial expressions.  Whereas before the implant, I was scowling and only interested in where other dogs had been, I have now found my happy smiley face and am more up to playing with the others and doing things with mummee.

Happy days..... but the sun is shining. Tomorrow?  rain I think.
